Building the Centre
"Whatever good things we build end up building us." - Jim Rohn We broke ground on 19 May 2015 and hope to have the Centre fully built by the end of November. The Centre is a large building with 525 square metres under roof cover. The windows are set low in the wall so the children will be able to see outside when undertaking activities inside. To create a place for children simply to be children and have fun. To build a safe, functional environment for play, sport, art and educational activities and to provide a well-run and innovative community centre to make a difference in the lives of those who use it. We believe that children should have a place to play and grow. We also believe that skills are critical for economic and social welfare. Breaking Ground
On 19 May 2015, ground was broken in a small and intimate ceremony shared with the builders, the social workers and a few eager women from the community who arrived with rakes and shovels to start working on the gardens. 19 May is a symbolic and special date as it was the two year anniversary of Lee den Hond's Mt. Everest Summit.
